We are excited to announce the third straight year of hosting a swimming clinic for both student-athletes and coaches to be held on Saturday, August 12th, 2017.

The clinics will be featuring retired Head Coach Bill Wadley from the Ohio State University and Doug Humphrey from South Dakota State University. There will be stroke and turn sessions in the pool as well as classroom sessions for both coaches and swimmers. This event will run from 9 AM to roughly 4 PM at both West Bend High School and Hudson Middle School.

Bill Wadley, who retired after his 27th season as Ohio State's men's swimming coach, is one of the most experienced and respected mentors in the world of competitive swimming.

The 2010 Big Ten Conference Coach of the Year, Wadley's teams have posted eight consecutive Top 20 finishes at the NCAA championships; his teams have been ranked in the NCAA Top 25 for 22 of the past 25 seasons.

Doug Humphrey is taking over the South Dakota State program after 5 years being the head coach at the University of Northern Iowa. Humphrey was named Missouri Valley Conference Swimming Coach of the Year in 2016 after leading Northern Iowa to third place at the league championships.

Coach Wadley will be at Hudson Middle School, while Coach Humphrey will be in West Bend.

Coaches that are members of WISCA will have a $25 charge. Coaches that are not members will need to join the association to attend and then pay the additional charge. The fee for Student-Athletes will be $50.

Sign up will be occurring via Eventbrite at the following link – http://2017wiscaclinic.eventbrite.com

All payments will be taken at the door on the day of the event. This event is open to any and all entrants.

Athletes will need to bring a suit, cap, goggles, and towel. No need for equipment bags. Coaches should be prepared to be on deck and assist in coaching. Everyone should bring a cold lunch. West Bend will have a purchase lunch option.

West Bend High School is located at 1305 East Decorah Road in West Bend, Wisconsin.

Hudson Middle School is located at 1300 Carmichael Road, Hudson, Wisconsin

IMPORTANT Information regarding WIAA rules:

Boys with remaining high school eligibility should pay the $50 clinic fee on their own. This fee cannot be paid by the school or others for attendance for boys—boys must pay 100% of the training costs, including transportation costs. If a boy wishes to travel with a girls’ team bus, logistics could be accommodated by having students cover their own cost for the bus transportation.

Girls can be allowed to attend with payment from their school, if their school team is attending.

Questions on this should be directed to your local Athletic Director.
